Euroleague: wins for Sam Van Rossom and Ismael Bako respectively against Olympiakos and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The Spaniards from Valencia won on Wednesday night at Olympiakos (85-96). Sam Van Rossom did not score a point.

Valencia made the difference in the first half. Valencia relied on Bojan Dubljevic (20 points and 9 rebounds) and Derrick Williams (16 points) to quickly take control (16-25 and 39-52 at the break ). In the second half, the two teams were evenly matched, allowing Sam Van Rossom’s teammates to win the game (65-76 and 85-96). Sam Van Rossom ends the game without having scored a single point but with 3 rebounds and 1 assist in 17 minutes.

Derrick Williams:[Seven guys in double-digits in scoring] means that we have really a good team, from top to bottom. It doesn’t matter who starts, we have lots of guys in this team that can really play, whoever’s name is called, is ready to play as you could see tonight. I’m trying to prime myself especially in the fourth, because when it comes to winning time, at the end of the day the only motivation you need is winning, when it comes to winning you want to give all you have to the team.

On Friday, Valencia will travel to Serbia, at the Red Star in Belgrade. In the standings, the Spaniards are in 5th place with a record of 9 wins for 5 losses.
