We had already announced it on our Facebook page in late April but it is now finally official: next season promising youngster Sean Pouedet will continue to play in TDM2 with his current team Bavi Vilvoorde but will also join Brussels Basketball and hopefully manage to earn himself his first minutes in the EMBL.

Despite still only being 16 years old, Pouedet has already been an important factor on Vilvoorde’s squad in TDM2 this past season where he averaged about 6.0 ppg, while competing against physically stronger and much more experienced opponents.

This past summer he also competed with the U16 National Team where he recorded excellent numbers against some of the top players in Europe in his age category. Including a 20 pts performance on 7/11 FG shooting against Finland, while in a game against Great-Britain he dished out a spectacular 11 assists. Over the course of the European Championship he averaged 11.6 ppg (2nd on the team), 4.6 rpg (4th on the team), 3.8 apg (2nd on the team) & 2.1 spg (2nd on the team) in 8 games.

He was again in the preliminary selection to compete for our U18 squad at the European Championship this summer, but unfortunately the global pandemic put a premature end to that.

At TIB we’re happy to see that he will be getting his shot at the highest level in Belgium at an early age and we can only hope that it will further speed-up his overall development.

Congratulations Sean and keep working!
