Our U18 Belgian Cats have gone through a difficult opening round at their European Championship in Group A. After big losses against Italy and Croatia, they now narrowly missed their first win of the tournament this evening against Germany.

Throughout the game our young Cats kept the victory within their grasp but in the end Germany was able to come-back from behind to take the 63-67 win thanks to an impressive performance by Emilie Bessoir (18 pts & 11 rebs).

For our Cats it was again Maxuella Lisowa-Mbaka who led the way with her 21 pts & 9 rebs, while Sam Van Buggenhout drained 5-3pt shots for her 15 pts.

With the loss our Cats end group play with a 0-3 record and now go to the qualification games where they’ll hopefully be able to prevent the relegation to Division B.
