In the second game of the #TDM1 season-opener it was BBC Lommel who hosted the visitors from Basket SKT Ieper.

The home-team got off to a very rough start and quickly saw Ieper taking the reigns in this game as they ran out to a maximum lead of 14 points and at the half the scoreboard read 31-42.

Ceyssens and Wesenbeek then got things rolling for Lommel in the third quarter and when De Keuster layed it in, the lead had been cut to 2 (50-52) with 3 minutes left to play in the third quarter, forcing Ieper into a time-out. A time-out that had the needed effect since Ieper ran back out to finish the quarter with the 54-60 advantage.

Maesen and Jacobs brought Lommel right back in it though and for the remainder of the fourth quarter both teams remained close resulting in a 70-70 score with 2 minutes left to play.

In those final 2 minutes we got a pair of technical fouls but in the end it was Mestdagh who kept his head cool and gave Ieper the victory with 4 clutch freethrows after which Devacht put the 72-76 final score on the board.

Robin Mestdagh from Ieper finished as our undisputed Player of the Game as he recorded 21 points on 6-12 FG’s & 6-6 FT’s and also grabbed 9 rebounds. Kjell Devacht was also very solid for Ieper and finished with 18 points, while Anton D’Herck chipped in with 10 points.

The home-team was led by guard Enrico Montanari who finished with 11 points, 7 rebounds & 4 assists, while Toon Ceyssens and Toon Wesenbeek both ended up with 14 points each.
