Philip Mestdagh is the Belgian coach of the year !

Philip Mestdagh, coach of the national women’s basketball team, was voted Coach of the Year at the Sports Gala this Friday. Mestdagh won with 405 points ahead of Club Brugge coach Philippe Clement (293 points) and the coach of the Red Devils Roberto Martinez (220), who received the trophy once in 2018.

Last year, Shane McLeod, the national coach of the Red Lions won the award.

Philip Mestdagh led the Belgian Cats to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo in February The Belgian Cats also qualified for the Fiba EuroBasket 2021 last month.
