19 year old Owen Soontjens finished his freshman season with the Adelphi University Panthers after first having moved to the States in 2016 when he joined Marianapolis Prep.

In his first season with Adelphi the Corbais/Mont-Saint-Guibert native saw a decent amount of minutes as he played 14.8 mpg and averaged 2.9 ppg & 1.7 rpg. Soontjens started the season pretty strong and had a season-high 9 pts in a loss at Goldey-Beacom but unfortunately he did drop off a bit as the season progressed and even went scoreless in his last 4 games of the season.

He did show his strong shooting stroke as he shot 67% on his 2’s, 41% on his 3’s and was 2 for 2 from the FT-line but obviously he did take a limited amount of shots.

2019-’20 Season-Highs (Adelphi):
Record: 12-7
Full Stat-line: 2.9 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 0.9 apg, 0.3 spg & 0.4 bpg in 14.8 mpg
Points: 9 pts (@ Goldey-Beacom, 26/11/2019)
Rebounds: 4 rebs (2 times)
Assists: 4 asts (2 times)
Steals: 1 stl (5 times)
Blocks: 3 blks (vs. Mercy, 1/01/2020)
