Oostende beats the Champions League winner at home Tuesday night (99-98).

After a fast start, Oostende was only down by 2 at the end of the first quarter (24-26). In the second quarter, Olivier Troisfontaines scored 11 points and Oostende was only down by 1 at halftime (52-53).

Returning from the locker room, Dario Gjergja‘s players continued to fight back in the third quarter (71-74). After a big 3 from Jean-Marc Mwema to cut the deficit to 1 with only one minute to go (97-98), Dusan Djordjevic made the go-head basket with only 16 seconds to go (99-98).

Olivier Troisfontaines (23 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds in 18 minutes) is the MVP of the game. Keye van der Vuurst de Vries was also very active (13 points and 11 assists).

For San Pablo Burgos Alex Renfroe (18 points) and Dejan Kravic (19 points) were the most importants players.

This is the first victory for the Oostende in the Champions League this season. The Belgian champions now have a record of one win for one loss. Their next Champions League game is December 9, at home, against Brindisi.

The top two teams from each group qualify for the second round of the Basketball Champions League.
