Big performance from Mons this Wednesday evening in Cyprus against Anwil (69-81).

Anwil played in the Champions League last season (1 win and 1 loss against Antwerp). For Mons it was the first game ever in the Champions League.

After a good start for Anwil (20-17 after 10′), the second quarter was completely in favor of Vedran Bosnic’s team (30-38 after 20′).

After the break, Mons continued to dominate the game easily (46-64 after 30′). Despite a run from Anwil in the last quarter, Mons qualified for the next round and will play against Bakken Bears for a spot in the Champions League (69-81).

For Mons Arik Smith was the best scorer with 21 points coming off the bench, while Auston Barnes scored 14 points. Newcomer Jabril Durham did a solid job at the point as he finished with 8 pts & 7 asts. That other newcomer Skylar Spencer had the highest efficiency rating as he collected 10 pts, 7 rebs, 4 stls & 3 blks.
