In her third (junior) year at Colorado State Women’s Basketball youngster Lore Devos has just wrapped up her season this past Sunday with a 48-60 loss at Air Force in the Mountain West Championship tournament.

The loss marked the end of a pretty tough season for Devos who missed practically half of the competition due to a lower leg injury. She suffered the injury in the season-opener against Chadron State, a game in which she went 5-6 from the field for 12 pts in only 14 minutes of play before she was forced to the sidelines. Unfortunately for her, the injury kept her off the court for more than 2 months until she was finally able to make her return in a loss against San Jose State to play 9 mins, scoring 2 pts and grabbing 2 rebs.

Although it took her a while to regain her rhythm on the court, by the end of the season we again saw flashes of the player who had led the Rams in Scoring (13.6 ppg) and Rebounding (5.2 rpg) and had been second on the team in Assists (2.0 apg) and Steals (1.4 spg) the previous season. In mid-February – in the win against UNLV – Devos had her best game of the season as she recorded 18 pts, 5 rebs, 3 asts, 2 stls & 1 blk in 30 mins of action.

All in all she played in a total of 16 games for Colorado State this season and averaged 7.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 0.9 apg, 0.5 spg & 0.6 bpg in 22.2 mpg.

Before the NCAA season started Devos had also been a key member for our U20 Belgian Cats who managed a 4th place at the European Championship (Division A) this past summer. For the U20 Cats she averaged 14.7 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 2.7 apg & 0.7 bpg in 31.6 mpg (7 games) and recorded 2 Double-Doubles. An impressive stat-line which is a more accurate reflection of the skills she brings to the table.

Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised to see her put down similar numbers in her senior year at Colorado State next season!
