Dario Gjergja will continue to coach the Belgian men’s national basketball team until the 2023 World Cup. The 45-year-old Croat extended his contract until the 2023 World Cup. In 11 games with the Lions, Gjergja only lost 1, against Lithuania.

Dario Gjergja succeeded Eddy Casteels in 2018 at the head of the Belgian Lions, which have been certain of qualification for the European Championship 2022 after Yesterday’s 88-65 win in Vilnius against Denmark. The preliminary round will close against the Czech Republic on Monday. The European Championship will be played from 1 to 18 September 2022 in 4 countries: the Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy and Germany.

Dario Gjergja’s big objective will be to qualify Belgium for the 2023 World Cup.

The 2023 World Cup will take place in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines
