Efes Istanbul, Barcelona and Milan joined CSKA Moscow in the Euroleague Basketball Final Four after the decisive N.5 quarter-final matches on Tuesday.

CSKA Moscow was the only team already qualified for the Final Four after the easy win against Fenerbahçe (3-0) in the semi-finals.

Efes Istanbul – Real Madrid

Anadolu Efes Istanbul defeated Real Madrid 88-83 after an amazing game. The Spaniards, with Sergio Llull and Rudy Fernandez, fought hard but they couldn’t stop Chris Singleton who scored 26 points. Efes will play against CSKA Moscow.

Barcelona – Zenith

Barcelona easily dominated Zenit Saint Petersburg (79-53). Corry Higgins scored 15 points while Pau Gasol scored 7 points.

Pau Gasol

“This is the type of effort that it is going to take from now on. I think we have to understand that every game is going to be final, it is going to be the same approach. We have to come out defensively, set the tone, and I think we did a much better job in the second half. Even when we did a good job in the first half, we did a better job in the second half, taking care of the ball, boxing out, those two things. We just kept the intensity up and that is what it is going to take to win. Today, it was a good step forwards for me. I had a good week practicing, had a couple of good weeks practicing, and I just want to continue to feel better, getting in better shape so I can help more and contribute like I did today.”

Milan – Bayern

Milan snatched their qualification against Bayern Munich after a breathless 4th quarter (92-89). Ettore Messina’s led 72-58 at the start of the last quarter. But Bayern was only 2 points away (91-89) with 10 seconds to go and the ball in Wade Baldwin’s hand, but they couldn’t convert the opportunity. Shavon Shields scored 34 points for Milan, while former Antwerp Giants player, Kevin Punter, had 7 points.

Barcelona and Milan will face each other for a place in the final.

The Final Four will be held in Cologne from May 28 to 30.
