It was the first game at the Palais 12 in the EMBL championship this season for Brussels basketball.

Quickly, Ian Hanavan’s team took control of the game thanks to Pavle Djurisic (25-21). Gradually, the gap climbed during the second act while Spirou struggled at the offensive end (43-32 at the break).

After the break, Brussels continued its momentum and Charleroi was unable to answer (59-46).

With a 20 point lead in the last quarter, everybody thought it was over, except for Charleroi who attempted an incredible comeback but ultimately came up just a little short as Brussels beats Spirou Charleroi (83-77). A success which allows Phoenix Brussels to record its first success in Euromillions Basketball League in five games and they now hold the same record as Charleroi.

For Brussels, Pavle Djurisic recorded 22 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists. Darius Washington scored 17 points from the bench.

For Charleroi, Alex Libert posted 22 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Yoeri Schoepen had 15 points and 7 rebounds coming off the bench.
