The Belgian women’s national basketball team (FIBA 6) will face Bosnia-Herzegovina (FIBA 27), Germany (FIBA 40) and North Macedonia (FIBA 79) in Group A of the preliminary round of the 2023 European Championships.

The Belgian Cats were one of the five seeds in the draw that was made on Friday. The thirty-eight countries were divided into ten groups. The ten group winners and the four best runners-up will accompany the hosts, Slovenia and Israel, to the final phase.
The qualifying matches will be held in three periods: in November this year, in November 2022 and in February 2023. The host countries, Slovenia and Israel, are also participating. If they finish in the top 14, an additional ticket is awarded to a 2nd ranked team.
The Cats are aiming for a fourth consecutive EuroBasket appearance.
